Silver Fern Farms is committed to operating sustainably. We believe we can create positive change for the environment; from our farmers, who optimise natural resources and use low intensity, regenerative farming practices, to our rigorous production processes and standards at plant. Silver Fern Farms has implemented a number of initiatives to address climate change and reduce our impact on the environment.
An example of sustainability in action is that over 70% of New Zealand sheep and beef farmers are involved in some form of conservation initiative, such as restoring native biodiversity, undertaking weed and pest control, and participation in catchment group action to improve the quality of local habitat and waterways.
Silver Fern Farms is a sponsor of ‘Trees for Bees’, a program to bring back a diverse range of flowering trees into farms to provide year round food for bee populations and foster pollination.
